The casino is the latest to recognize the popularity of poker
The Potawatomi Casino Hotel in Milwaukee confirmed that the grand opening of its new poker room and sportsbook will be on May 3, 2024. The new addition will include 14 tables and house a Las Vegas-style sportsbook. It’s all part of a $190 million renovation project which began in September 2023.
“We are excited to bring the next level of an entertaining sports betting atmosphere to our guests,” declared Potawatomi Casino Hotel CEO Dominic Ortiz. “We appreciate the patience our guests have given us while we build out these two extraordinary projects. I can assure them it will be well worth the wait.”
Games featured at the poker room include No-Limit Hold ’em and Pot Limit Omaha, with a bad beat jackpot and hourly high-hand jackpots awarded.
The new Potawatomi Sportsbook will cover 6,500 square feet and has a broadcast booth, over 20 TVs, one large LED screen and seating for 200 on two floors. Guests will also have Kiosks and ticket writers available.
“There is not a retail betting space outside of Las Vegas that can compete with the high-end venue we’re unveiling on May 3,” said Potawatomi Sportsbook Director Sean Cullen. “With the 75 kiosks we currently have, we are number two in the country for gross gaming revenue of publicly reporting sportsbooks. We believe our new retail sports betting venue will make us a top travel destination in the Midwest.”
The poker room and sportsbook will offer food and beverages and 48 draft beers, including Dealers Choice Potawatomi Pilsner.
“In all my years in the gaming industry, the opening of a sportsbook and poker room has to be the most exciting time in my career,” added Ortiz.
