Jonathan Little went from almost busting out to winning the tournament

The race for the 2024 PokerGO Cup came down to the final hand as Jonathan Little emerged as the winner to take over $730,000 after going from short stack to champion in the eighth and final event. Little would prevail against a field of other stars at the PokerGO Studio at ARIA in Las Vegas.

Little, David Peters and Justin Zaki fought until the last card, with Little demonstrating he had the moxie to become the eventual winner. He would beat Zaki heads-up to take the title and overtake Peters.

Peters took the early series lead after winning Event #1 for over $141,000, with Little cashing and making it to the final seven. The second event saw Dylan Weisman defeat German grinder Daniel Smiljokvic heads-up to win $240,000.

Little would win the first of his two titles in Event #3 after going heads-up with Alex Foxen. He would secure $229,500 for the win and the PGT points earned would put him in contention for the overall championship.

Cary Katz took the title in Event #4, and American Justin Zaki would win Event #5 to contend for the championship but was still behind Little, who cashed in more events.

David Coleman would win in Event #6 for the $302,000 top prize and take over the lead before Peters would take the title in the next event for his second win, meaning that for anyone to surpass him, they’d have to win the $25,200 buy-in Event #8.

However, Little would claim the $25,000 Championship Bonus and PokerGO Cup trophy when his ace-three triumphed against Zaki’s king-seven on the final hand to take home $453,750, with Zaki cashing $288,750 as runner-up.
