The inaugural €1,000 buy-in event will take place on April 4
The World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE) is adding a new milestone to its 2026 schedule with the introduction of a Ladies Championship. The €1,000 buy-in event will run on April 4 and marks the first time a women-only bracelet tournament appears in the WSOPE series.
The upcoming festival also represents a fresh chapter for the series, which has relocated from Rozvadov to Prague. Players will compete at the Hilton Prague, where organizers have planned a full slate of 15 bracelet events running from March 31 through April 12.
WSOP CEO Ty Stewart said the decision reflects a broader effort to make the European series more inclusive. He noted that Ladies Events in Las Vegas are known for their competitive atmosphere and strong turnout, and organizers want to bring that same feel to Europe with a dedicated championship.
The addition comes alongside a major push to grow the WSOP Europe brand. The Main Event will feature a €10 million guarantee, and the expanded schedule is expected to draw a larger international field. The move also follows similar steps by other tours, including recent female-only events added by Triton Poker.
Attention will naturally turn to Shiina Okamoto, who has won the last two WSOP Ladies Championships in Las Vegas. The Japanese pro captured titles in both 2024 and 2025 and has already confirmed plans to play in Prague, giving her a chance to extend her run on a new stage.
She will not be short on competition. The field is expected to include Leo Margets, Vanessa Kade, Kitty Kuo, Xuan Liu, and several other well-known players. The winner will receive a specially designed Ladies Event bracelet, making the debut tournament a central highlight of the 2026 WSOP Europe festival.
