The WPT is adding a new twist to poker it hopes will attract more interest
The upcoming World Poker Tour (WPT) Voyage cruise on Virgin Voyages Valiant Lady has added an exciting feature from the WPT, with a unique Pajama Meet-Up Game (MUG) added to the opening day schedule of the six-day Caribbean experience. Twenty tournaments and $1.5 million in guaranteed prize pools are featured on the WPT Voyage, which includes stops in The Bahamas and the Cayman Islands.
“A Meet-Up Game is the perfect fit for the WPT Voyage. Just as the Premier MUG does for the WPT World Championship festival, we aim to kick off the Voyage festivities with everyone coming together in a fun-loving environment,” said WPT CEO Adam Pliska
The WPT Voyage MUG will headline day one of the Caribbean cruise on March 31. WPT Global Ambassador Ethan “Rampage” Yau, WPT Ambassador Andrew Neeme, WPT Anchor Lynn Gilmartin, and WPT Commentators Tony Dunst and Vince Van Patten will attend the sociable cash game.
Several special guests, including Princess Love, Nikki Limo, Ashley Frank, Ashley Sleeth, Jesse Sylvia and Kasey Lyn Mills, will sit down at the tables. “Show me another instance of a pajama poker party at sea. You can’t!” declared Neeme. “Don’t sleep on the WPT Voyage MUG. It’s going to be a great time, and we’re giving away a $5,000 seat to the Championship event to one lucky player.”
The MUG pajama party encourages players and fans to wear their best set of sleepwear to the table, where participants wearing pajamas will have a chance to win a $5,000 WPT Voyage Championship seat, which they can use to play in the $1,000,000 guaranteed event the following day.
The cash game starts at 8 PM in the Red Room, which features 20 poker tables and ends with the drawing at 11 PM.
