Jeremy Ausmus is still in first place, but several players hope to dethrone him
Jeremy Ausmus remains the player to beat in the CardPlayer POY race, holding onto the top spot after a strong showing in March. His recent performances in the Triton Poker Super High Roller Series in Jeju, South Korea, earned him valuable points, including a major victory in the $25,000 Eight Max event that brought him nearly $1.9 million. His deep run at the PGT Pot Limit Omaha Series also helped him stay ahead of the competition with 3,754 total points.
The leaderboard has seen some major shifts behind him. Brandon Wilson climbed into second place after making three final tables in Jeju, accumulating over a million dollars in earnings and 1,250 points. Nick Schulman remains steady in third, benefiting from strong finishes in both the PGT Mixed Games Series and the 2025 Wynn Millions.
Wenjie Huang made a huge leap onto the list after winning the $100,000 Triton Super High Roller Jeju, an achievement that earned him nearly $6 million and 2,550 points. Last month’s second-place player, Joey Weissman, has slipped to fifth as new contenders rise in the standings.
The tournament schedule shows no signs of slowing down. The World Poker Tour is set to host the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown and WPT Choctaw in April, while the European Poker Tour will return later in the month with EPT Monte Carlo. The PGT Pot Limit Omaha Series continues, leading into the PGT Texas Poker Open in Houston.
Additionally, PokerStars is launching the PokerStars Open Philadelphia, adding to a packed calendar. With months of high-stakes action still ahead, the race for the 2025 POY title remains wide open.
