The Global Poker Index has presented the nominees for the awards ceremony next month
The Global Poker Index has announced its list of nominees for the upcoming Global Poker Awards, scheduled to take place on February 22 at PokerGO Studios. Caitlin Comeskey leads this year’s contenders with four nominations, marking her as one of the standout figures of the event.
Comeskey, a two-time award winner, is nominated for Best X Personality, Best Short-Form Content Creator, Best Short-Form Video, and the fan-voted Most Entertaining Player. Her consistent recognition highlights her growing influence in poker content creation, having won Short-Form Content Creator in 2023 and the Rising Star in Content Creation in 2022.
Other notable nominees include Marle Spragg and Joe Stapleton, each receiving three nods. Stapleton is recognized for his contributions to the poker podcast Poker in the Ears, co-hosted with James Hartigan, and his graphic novel Trapped, released in late 2024. Spragg is nominated for Best X Personality, Best Short-Form Content Creator, and Best Short-Form Video, showcasing her versatility in the industry.
In the Best Journalist category, Sarah Herring and Brad Willis represent PokerOrg, competing against Nick Jones and David Lappin. Meanwhile, Paul Oresteen’s interview with Ari Engel earns a spot in the Best Written Content category alongside contributions from Jonathan Raab, Lance Bradley, and Connor Richards.
The Breakout Player category features first-time nominee Rania Nasreddine, alongside Mark Travis Egbert, Noel Rodriguez, and Boris Anzhelov Angelov. Each nominee has had a remarkable year, with achievements ranging from Egbert’s WPT Alpha victory to Angelov’s strong finishes at high-profile events like the WSOP and EPT.
The ceremony will also celebrate top performers from 2024, including Player of the Year David Coleman, and Female Player of the Year Cherish Andrews, among others.
