Former POTUS Obama, Billie Eilish and even the late Betty White made the list

A recent survey conducted by BetMGM informed which celebrities people would most like to face off against in a poker game. The survey, which gathered responses from over 2,200 participants, revealed a diverse range of preferred poker companions across various categories, including musicians, athletes, politicians, and even deceased celebrities.

In the political scenario, former President Barack Obama emerged as the top choice, with 61.5% of respondents indicating they’d like to play poker with him. Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump also made the list, with 14.7% and 32.5% of votes, respectively.

When it comes to musicians, preferences vary significantly across generations. Generation Z, known for their affinity for modern pop culture, picked Billie Eilish as their ideal poker partner. Millennials leaned towards the rap icon Eminem, while Gen X and Baby Boomers showed a strong preference for the legendary Elton John. Other notable mentions included Kendrick Lamar and Drake, with Lamar being favored by 19.4% of respondents compared to Drake’s 11.3%.

The survey also asked participants to choose deceased celebrities they’d love to play poker with. Betty White topped this category, with 34.1% of respondents choosing the beloved actress. Other top picks included Princess Diana and Freddie Mercury, reflecting the enduring admiration for these iconic figures.

In the world of sports, Michael Jordan was a favorite, especially among respondents from North Carolina. Meanwhile, Kentucky residents showed a preference for George Clooney, a Lexington native. State pride also influenced choices in this category, with local sports legends like Shaquille O’Neal and Caitlin Clark being popular picks in their respective states.

The survey also explored the popularity of celebrity couples at the poker table. Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds emerged as the top duo across half the country, while Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis, along with Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift, were popular in specific states like Nevada and Kansas.

Gender differences played a role in the selections as well. Men generally favored male icons like Eminem, John Lennon, and Michael Jordan, while women were more inclined to choose female figures such as Lady Gaga, Simone Biles, and Paris Hilton. Interestingly, 30.1% of participants expressed a desire to bring their pet to the poker table, highlighting the personal and playful nature of these choices.

This survey not only provides insight into which celebrities people admire but also reflects how cultural and generational influences shape choices, even in something as light-hearted as a game of poker.
