The opening event is a $400 Deep Stack event that carries a $1 million GTD prize pool
Poker returns to South Florida this spring with a full schedule set at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. The Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown is slated to begin on April 8, opening with a $400 Deep Stack event that carries a $1 million guaranteed prize pool. The series is expected to draw a large field of players ranging from casual entrants to seasoned professionals.
The festival is part of the World Poker Tour circuit, making it one of the more anticipated stops on the calendar. The centerpiece of the schedule is the $3,500 WPT Poker Showdown Championship, which starts on April 24 and features a $3 million guarantee. The final six players will return on April 29 to compete at a televised final table, adding extra attention to the closing stage.
Several other tournaments are included throughout the series, offering different buy-ins and formats. Highlights include an $800 Platinum Stack event with a $1 million guarantee and a $1,100 Triple Stack tournament with a $500,000 prize pool. Higher-stakes options such as the $10,000 Deep Stack and $5,000 Eight-Handed events are also part of the lineup, giving experienced players more ways to compete.
Last year’s championship drew a field of 1,755 entries, with Art Peacock taking the title and earning $776,000. Organizers are expecting another strong turnout this year, continuing the event’s reputation as a major poker destination in the US.
The April series adds to the venue’s long-standing role in hosting large-scale poker events, with a mix of accessible buy-ins and high-level competition shaping the schedule.
