The series will run from February 11 through February 23
MGM National Harbor is set to welcome poker players next month with the return of the Potomac Winter Poker Open. The series will run from February 11 through February 23 inside the casino’s poker room, bringing nearly two weeks of tournament action to the Maryland venue.
This year’s schedule includes 23 events and more than $5 million in guaranteed prize pools. Organizers have refreshed the format, adding more multi-day tournaments and a broader mix of game types designed to appeal to both casual players and seasoned regulars.
The centerpiece of the series is the $3,000 buy-in Main Event, which features two starting flights and a guaranteed prize pool of $750,000. A mix of side events will run alongside it, including tournaments aimed at specific player groups and creative formats that encourage teamwork and variety.
Lower buy-in highlights include a $300 Tag Team event, a $300 women’s event, and a $300 Cakes Classic Bounty tournament. Age-based events are also on the schedule, with a $500 seniors tournament for players 50 and older and a $400 Super Seniors event open to those 60 and up.
Fans of non-hold’em poker will find plenty to choose from. The series includes several mixed-game options such as TORSE, 8 Game Mix, mixed pot-limit Omaha, Big O, pot-limit Omaha 8, and five-card pot-limit Omaha bounty events.
Players who enter tournaments will receive added perks throughout the series. Each entry comes with a $25 Match Bet Bonus and a $10 food voucher. MGM National Harbor is also offering a 10% discount on hotel room rates, making it easier for visiting players to stay close to the action.
With a deep schedule, diverse games, and extra incentives, the Potomac Winter Poker Open is shaping up to be a major draw on the East Coast poker calendar.
