The Las Vegas venue closed its poker area four years ago
Poker players heading to Las Vegas this spring will have a familiar spot to look forward to again, as Planet Hollywood is bringing back its poker room after a three-year break. The venue, which closed its poker space in 2021, will reopen in May with a bigger and more modern layout designed to appeal to a wide range of players.
The new poker room is being built on an elevated platform that overlooks the main casino floor, offering a view that sets it apart from most poker venues on the Strip. The updated space will house 23 tables, including 12 reserved for cash games. The rest will support daily tournaments and special events, giving players various options depending on their skill level and interest.
Anthony Mink, who manages the room and has decades of experience in the industry, says the unique layout is one of the room’s biggest features. In addition to the elevated playing area, the new design includes a full bar, an attached restroom, and plenty of atmosphere—thanks to a gothic-style interior, film posters, and over 20 televisions.
Tournament action will return as well, with two side rooms built to host daily events and higher-stakes games. A new mixed game series is already scheduled for May 12 to 20, and the World Series of Poker Circuit is also making its comeback at the venue. Planet Hollywood plans to hold two Circuit stops per year, something it last did in 2019.
Rather than aiming to compete with the city’s largest poker rooms, Planet Hollywood is focused on offering mid-stakes and beginner-friendly games, with tournaments starting at $100. With the World Series of Poker season approaching, the timing couldn’t be better for players looking for action in a refreshed and welcoming environment.
