$2.6 million was up for grabs in the $1,110 No-Limit Hold’em event
A Michigan player is celebrating his win at the Mid-States Poker Tour’s four-day eventĀ heldĀ at Firekeepers Casino in Battle Creek.Ā After agreeing to a deal with the other threeĀ remainingĀ finalists, Kevin Oswald of Croswell took the championship at the $1,110 No-Limit Hold’em tournamentĀ that ranĀ from May 16 to 19.Ā
Oswald held theĀ biggestĀ chip stack among the final four players. He took home the trophy when he was named the winner after a four-way chop, with each earning $234,422.Ā
Nick Davidson (9th for $41,090) was the first player eliminated at the final table after his pocket 10s ran into Curtis Vierstraete’s Kings, and Buck Bucceri (8th for $51,626) soon followed after his pocket nines got no help vs. Oswald’s Queens.
Daniel Schill (7th for $66,113) was the next player Oswald sent home, and Steve Wangler earned his first knockout at the final table after beating Vierstraete (6th for $84,288) with pocket eights. World Series of Poker bracelet winner Rob Mitchell ($106,677) finished the tournament in fifth place after becoming Wangler’s second straight victim.
Wangler, Anton Vucinaj, and Brad Sailor were the other three involved in the four-player chop to split the remainder of the $2.6 million prize pool.Ā
