Jesse Lonis keeps the top spot for the 20th consecutive week
The latest Global Poker Index (GPI) rankings show little movement as the poker industry heads into the final stretch of 2024. Jesse Lonis continues to dominate, holding the top spot for an impressive 20th consecutive week. His success includes a strong performance at EPT Barcelona, where he secured three top-ten finishes, including a fourth-place showing in the β¬100,000 (US$109,000) Super High Roller, earning him β¬457,400 ($502,000). This follows his earlier success at the WSOP, where he claimed a runner-up finish in the $50,000 High Roller for over $1.3 million.

Adrian Mateos remains in the second spot for the ninth week in a row. After starting the year ranked 30th, Mateos has climbed the ranks, thanks in part to two titles in the Triton Poker Super High Roller Series. Most recently, he collected over $1 million at the Super High Roller Bowl Cyprus festival. Despite skipping EPT Barcelona, his position in the GPI rankings remains solid.
Canadian Mike Watson has made a significant leap, moving up to third place. Watson’s stellar September saw him win the EPT $10,000 High Roller, securing his position among the top three for the first time. Meanwhile, Thailand’s Punnat Punsri re-entered the Top 10 after a fifth-place finish in the APT Taipei Poker Classic Super High Roller.
In the Player of the Year race, Adrian Mateos continues to lead, with David Coleman following closely in second. There has been no change in the rankings, but Coleman has had an impressive year, securing four titles before the end of April.
On the female side, Kristen Foxen remains the top-ranked player, holding strong in both the GPI and 2024 Player of the Year rankings. Cherish Andrews and Victoria Livschitz follow behind, with Rania Nasreddine climbing the ranks after her EPT Barcelona performance.
