This will be the second straight year the casino organizes a women’s-only poker tourney
The poker community dedicates significant efforts to fostering an inclusive and inviting ambiance for players from various backgrounds and genders. That commitment is demonstrated by events like the one coming up at Horseshoe Casino Baltimore to mark Women’s History Month.
This is the second-ever women’s event at the venue, and it comes with a $5,000 guarantee. There could also be a Q&A panel and many giveaways, such as poker coaching sessions and free books.
“This tournament is created by women poker players for women poker players,” said event organizer Caitlyn Arnwine. “I’m personally investing in women who attend this event. Ladies, you’re not going to want to miss out! We’re giving you the amazing event you deserve.”
“Men who want to be part of this event can do their part,” she added. “Share the flyer! Talk positively about women’s events at the poker table! Even buy a woman in — no female player will turn down a free buy-in!
The event will be held on Saturday, March 23, starting with a complimentary breakfast donated by the RunGood Poker Series and Rachel Kay Winter and a Women’s Panel at 11 AM. The $200 buy-in Ladies Legends event will follow at 12:15 PM.
The panel features speakers J. Avery Theodore Daisey, Heidi Findley and Hollie Fallstone, who will share their perspectives on experiences within the poker world. ASL interpreting will be available from a local Baltimore organization for the panel, which will be live-streamed on YouTube.
The tournament also offers attendees free snacks, giveaways and poker swag, along with other donated events, such as a free one-on-one coaching session with A-Game Agency and signed book giveaways from authors Matt Matros, Alex O’Brien, Dara O’Kearney, Andrew Brokos, Amanda Botfeld, Maria Konnikova and Ellen Leikin.
