The latest Global Poker series began this week, with daily events for all players
The Global Poker Micro Thunder Series VII motto is “Tiny entries, mighty prizes.” It accurately describes the series that began on Sunday, running through March 17 on the popular poker site.
Thirty-six Gold Coins (GC) and 36 Sweeps Coins (SC) tournaments, plus the Gods of Thunder event on March 24, highlight the series. At least eight Micro Series Tournaments will be held each day starting Sunday and continuing through March 17.
The action got underway on March 10. Leading the action is the six-max No-Limit Hold’em Micro Thunder Opening Event with buy-ins of SC 0.25, SC 1,000 guaranteed and GC 250 with a GC 500,000 guaranteed prize pool.
Players would be correct in thinking that it seems like a low buy-in for such a large pool, and that’s the theme of this series. There is a good mix of tournaments catering to all players, including mystery bounty, progressive bounty, Pot-Limit Omaha and Pot-Limit Omaha/8 events.
The series’ biggest event will take place on the final day. The Thunderstorm Main Event is a one-day tournament featuring a GC 11,000 buy-in with GC 7,500,000 guaranteed or an SC 11 buy-in and SC 15,000 in prizes awarded.
At least GC 40,000,000 and SC 80,000 will be awarded to players during the series, where they’ll also have lots of chances to win free Global Poker merchandise.
Global Poker will also host its massive Gods of Thunder event on March 24. Players can qualify for the tournament during the Micro Thunder Series, which will feature GC 40,000,000 and SC 80,000 in guaranteed prizes.
