Chris Moneymaker’s historic win at the 2003 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event changed the poker world. The legend’s Moneymaker Poker Tour will be coming to the Palm Beach Kennel Club (PBKC) in West Palm Beach, FL, from February 15 to 27, with over 1,000 players from around the world playing for a share of more than $1 million in prizes.
The event will feature 24 trophy events over 13 days, with select final tables being live-streamed to bring high-stakes poker excitement to poker fans worldwide.
The “Moneymaker Mystery Bounty” event will kick off the series with a $500 buy-in and guaranteed prize pool of $250,000, setting the scene for a succession of thrilling matches. The tour also includes several exclusive events, including the Big O Championship, the Moneymaker Deep Stack, Purple Chip Bounty and a Main Event that gives players of all levels a chance to enter with buy-ins ranging from $86 to $2,500.
The Moneymaker Tour is partnered with Bull and Boar BBQ Shop as its official sponsor, which helps highlight the tour’s development and its attraction within the broader entertainment landscape, where poker has gained in popularity.
The “Moneymaker Effect” caused a poker boom that popularized the game among the mainstream after his WSOP Main Event win that was gained through an $86 satellite entry. It showed that anyone with enough skill and a bit of luck can win in major tournaments. The Moneymaker Poker Tour seeks to grasp the vision of a new era of fans and participants.
The PBKC will be the focus of the poker world in February 2024, offering a landmark event that resumes Moneymaker’s legacy of boosting the game.
