This year’s event is organized to raise funds for the Community Food Bank of New Jersey
The tables are set and the chips are stacked as the Charity Series of Poker (CSOP) hosts its Hold’em for Hunger Event today, May 9, at the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City. This evening brings together poker enthusiasts and charitable givers for a night of friendly competition and impactful giving for the Community Food Bank of New Jersey (CFBNJ).
The festivities kick off at 6:30 pm with a welcoming cocktail hour at the Gypsy Bar. Guests can mingle, indulge in delicious appetizers, and enjoy live music while browsing a silent auction brimming with unique treasures. This is the perfect opportunity to meet fellow players, support the cause, and potentially score a fantastic prize.
The main event, a turbo-style Hold’em tournament, commences at 8:00 pm sharp. This fast-paced format welcomes players of all skill levels with a $230 buy-in. Here’s where the charitable heart of the event beats strongest: half of the total buy-in pool goes directly to the CFBNJ, a vital organization dedicated to fighting hunger in the state.
But even those who prefer to cheer from the sidelines can get involved. For just $100, you can attend the reception and silent auction and contribute to a good cause. If you decide to make the trip, business casual attire is recommended.
The CSOP, founded by poker professional Matt Stout, has a long-standing tradition of organizing charity poker tournaments. Hold’em for Hunger marks its 62nd event, a testament to their unwavering commitment to using the game of poker as a force for positive change.
