The names on the list shouldn’t come as a surprise to poker fans worldwide
The finalists for the 2024 Women in Poker Hall of Fame (WiPHoF) have been announced, highlighting eight prominent figures from both the player and industry sides of poker. After a public nomination phase and a careful review, these women are now being considered for this year’s induction. Among the finalists are notable players such as Kristen Bicknell Foxen, Liv Boeree, Jamie Kerstetter, Kara Scott, Annette Obrestad, and Jennifer Shahade, all recognized for their contributions to the game. Additionally, former PokerStars executives Jeanne David and Rebecca McAdam Willetts have also made the list.
Some of these names will be familiar from previous years. For instance, Bicknell Foxen, Boeree, and Scott were also finalists in 2022 but missed out on enshrinement. This year, they join other accomplished individuals in poker, including Kerstetter and Shahade, both known for their sharp insights and influence in the poker community.
The selection process now moves to a final voting stage. Eligible voters include all living members of the WiPHoF, as well as a panel of media and industry professionals. Each voter can distribute 10 votes among one or more finalists. Poker fans can also participate through a public voting page, where they can cast their ballots and learn more about each candidate.
The voting period will continue into November, after which this year’s inductees will be revealed. The new honorees will be celebrated at a special luncheon during the Women in Poker Winter Festival in Las Vegas. Further details about the event will be shared in the coming weeks.
