From September 21-28, ACR Poker turns the top end of OSS XL loose with five days of NLH and PLO nosebleeds – including a $25,500 Sunday event – as the dedicated super-high-stakes concept returns for the second time in 2026.

There are plenty of reasonable ways to play OSS XL. Second Mortgage Week is not one of them.

From September 21-28, ACR Poker is setting aside five playing days for 10 Nosebleed Stakes tournaments with buy-ins ranging from $5,200 to $25,500. The lineup mixes No-Limit Hold’em and Pot-Limit Omaha, 6-max and 8-max formats, plus two rebuy/add-on tournaments where there is no fee on rebuys.

It arrives in the middle of a 336-event OSS XL schedule carrying more than $50 million in guarantees from September 6-29. Most players can spend the month choosing from a wide range of buy-ins. For eight days near the end of the series, the very top of the lobby gets its own lane.

The name says the rest: Second Mortgage Week. ACR’s own description calls it a week for “big bankrolls, big trust funds and understanding loan officers,” with reasonable financial decisions sold separately.

Five Days. Ten Tournaments. Very Little Subtlety.

Second Mortgage Week is not a single $25K headline surrounded by a normal schedule. It is a compact five-day run with two nosebleed tournaments on every playing day: one at the higher end and one at $5,200. That gives high-stakes regulars multiple chances to play without turning the entire OSS XL calendar into a nosebleed-only series.

The peak comes on Sunday, September 27, with a $25,500 NLH 8-Max. The week closes one day later with a $15,400 NLH 8-Max and a $5,200 6-Max rebuy/add-on event. PLO gets its own day on September 23, with $10,300 and $5,200 options.

The exact start times will be available in the ACR Poker client and on the OSS XL schedule page. For players thinking about firing multiple events, the shape of the week matters almost as much as the individual buy-ins: there is no nosebleed slate on Tuesday, Friday or Saturday, which breaks the action into distinct sessions rather than one uninterrupted grind.

This Is Not ACR Poker’s First Trip to the Nosebleeds

Second Mortgage Week is the second dedicated super-high-stakes stretch ACR Poker has run in 2026. The first was The Highest Five, introduced inside April’s High Five Tournament Series.

That experiment ran April 19-23 with two nosebleed events per day and the same broad buy-in range: $5,200 to $25,500. ACR described those as the biggest stakes it had spread at the time, and the opening Sunday gave the concept an immediate stress test.

The $25,500 Phil’s Puff & Bluff drew 53 entries and built a $1,325,000 prize pool. AlwaysWithNuts won $371,000, while Alex Foxen – playing as OutFoxenYou – finished second for $265,000. The accompanying $5,200 Blunt Special attracted 113 entries and produced a $565,000 prize pool. The full opening-day recap showed that nosebleed poker did not need a huge field to generate huge money.

Second Mortgage Week takes the same basic idea and plugs it into a much larger September festival. The branding has changed. The stakes have not become more sensible.

Why the Mix Matters at These Buy-Ins

At $5,200 and above, small structural changes matter. An 8-max NLH tournament is not the same problem as 6-max. PLO changes the range work entirely. Rebuy/add-on formats can make bankroll decisions part of the strategy before the first hand is even dealt.

That is why the schedule avoids simply repeating the same $10K NLH tournament five times. Monday opens with straight 8-max NLH. Wednesday flips to PLO. Thursday brings NLH back but mixes 8-max and 6-max. Sunday is the pure headline day with the $25,500 NLH 8-Max. Monday, September 28 then closes the run with $15,400 NLH and a final $5,200 6-max R/A.

The two R/A events also come with a useful detail: there is no fee on rebuys. At these stakes, that is not a decorative footnote. Players who plan for multiple bullets will want to account for the structure before they sit down.

“The great thing about the Nosebleed Stakes events is that you get to watch top-level poker players compete every single day. Players like ACR Pro Alex Foxen and David Peters will be in these events, and this is becoming a real staple on ACR that people can follow to see how the best players approach the game. Even better, every final table can now be watched with the hole cards exposed, so aspiring players, fans and recreational players can go back, study the action and see how these absolute crushers play. I started playing these events myself, won one last time around, and I’m looking forward to doing it again. It’s going to be a great series.”

The Nosebleeds Land Right as OSS XL Gets Serious

The timing is deliberate from a player’s point of view. By September 21, OSS XL will already be well underway. By September 27, the series reaches one of its busiest Sundays.

That day is not only the home of the $25,500 nosebleed. It is also Day 1B for the $2.5 million guaranteed $2,650 Main Event and the $2 million guaranteed $1,050 Main Event. Both move to Day 2 on September 28 and final tables on September 29. The $66 Main Event also reaches Day 2 on September 27.

In other words, the highest buy-in of Second Mortgage Week is happening while a large part of the rest of the series is reaching its own endgame. High-stakes players can take the $25K route. Everyone else still has the rest of OSS XL.

The series also includes more than $60,000 in added cash and tournament tickets through three leaderboard levels. That matters because the nosebleed events are only one slice of a schedule designed to cover very different bankrolls.

Who Is Second Mortgage Week Actually For?

The obvious answer is players who already know what a $10K or $25K online tournament feels like. These are not aspirational “take a shot because it is there” buy-ins for most bankrolls. They are built for high-stakes regulars, satellite winners who reach them through a supported path, and players prepared for the variance that comes with compact elite fields.

The joke in the campaign works because the numbers are real. A player entering all 10 events once would put $97,800 in initial buy-ins on the table before any rebuys or add-ons. That is not a recommendation. It is simply the arithmetic behind the name.

Most players do not need to be anywhere near that number to have a big OSS XL. The point of Second Mortgage Week is that the top end exists alongside the rest of the series rather than replacing it.

Three Dates Worth Circling

September 23 – PLO day. The week’s only Omaha session puts $10,300 PLO 8-Max next to a $5,200 PLO 6-Max R/A. Four cards, higher variance, fewer excuses.

September 27 – the $25,500. This is the biggest buy-in of Second Mortgage Week and the natural headline event, landing on the same Sunday as Day 1B for the two largest OSS XL Main Events.

September 28 – last chance. The final pair is a $15,400 NLH 8-Max and $5,200 NLH 6-Max R/A. It is also Day 2 for the $2,650 and $1,050 OSS XL Main Events, so the lobby should not be short on meaningful decisions.

Bring the Bankroll. Maybe Leave the House Deed Alone.

Second Mortgage Week begins Monday, September 21 and runs through Monday, September 28. Ten tournaments. Five playing days. Buy-ins from $5,200 to $25,500. NLH, PLO, 6-max, 8-max and two no-fee-on-rebuy R/A events.

The Highest Five showed in April that a concentrated nosebleed schedule could produce seven-figure prize pools and attract some of the toughest names on ACR Poker. September gives the idea a second run, this time inside a series already carrying more than $50 million in guarantees.

Players can see the full lineup, Main Event dates and the rest of the series on the OSS XL tournament page. Reasonable financial decisions remain available elsewhere in the lobby.
