The casino has officially introduced the first commercial casino table games in the history of the five boroughs
The Genting Group has successfully transitioned its Resorts World facility in Queens, NY, into a full-scale gaming destination after securing a competitive casino license late last year. This development marks a historic shift for the city, which had previously restricted the venue to electronic slot machines.
The newly reimagined third floor now features over 240 live table games, offering approximately 1,500 individual positions for popular games, such as blackjack, roulette, baccarat, and craps. This launch represents the first time New York City residents can access Las Vegas-style table gaming without traveling outside the metropolitan area.
To support this massive expansion, the company has engaged in an aggressive recruitment and training campaign. The facility recently added 1,250 new positions to its staff, which includes 950 professional dealers specifically trained for the new table games.
This hiring surge has effectively doubled the local workforce to 2,200 employees, with projections suggesting the total headcount will reach 2,700 by the summer months. Leadership at the resort emphasized that these new roles are just the beginning of a long-term economic contribution to the Queens community.
The introduction of live gaming is the first phase of a broader $5.5 billion transformation plan designed to create a premier integrated resort at the 73-acre Aqueduct site. Once fully completed over the next three years, the destination will span 5.6 million square feet and include a 7,000-seat arena, 2,000 hotel rooms and extensive public green space.
The final vision for the property includes a total of 800 gaming tables and 5,500 slot machines, supported by dozens of dining and beverage outlets. This significant investment is intended to establish the facility as one of the largest entertainment hubs in the country while providing thousands of additional jobs for New Yorkers.
