The move follows an ongoing trend of growing activity in the space
Coinbase appears to be preparing a major expansion into prediction markets, according to screenshots shared by tech researcher Jane Manchun Wong. Wong, known for uncovering unreleased features hidden in source code, posted images on X showing what looks like a fully branded interface for a Coinbase-backed prediction platform. The screenshots suggest the service will run through Coinbase Financial Markets with support from Kalshi, a regulated prediction market that uses USDC for trading event contracts.

The images show a clean layout featuring Coinbase’s logo, an FAQ section, and guidance explaining how customers can trade on outcomes involving politics, sports, economics, science, and technology. The platform also references regular additions of new markets, indicating a plan for ongoing expansion. While Coinbase has not publicly confirmed launch details, the company previously told CNBC it intended to add prediction markets as part of its effort to build an “everything exchange.”
Coinbase and Kalshi entered a partnership last November, with Coinbase acting as custodian for Kalshi’s USDC-based contracts. Wong’s screenshots point to a deeper integration, potentially allowing users to trade with either US dollars or USDC depending on preference. Neither company has commented on Wong’s findings, but her track record of uncovering unreleased features makes the discovery difficult to dismiss.
Prediction markets have surged in popularity across the crypto industry this year, with platforms like Kalshi and Polymarket reporting heavy trading volume. Exchanges are now racing to capture the growing interest by launching their own offerings or striking partnerships that give customers access to these markets. Crypto.com recently unveiled a prediction product connected to Trump Media, while Gemini announced plans for a similar platform as part of its goal to build a broader “super app.”
Coinbase entering the space would mark one of the largest moves yet by a US crypto exchange into prediction markets. With the sector rapidly expanding and regulatory clarity improving, the company’s push hints at a strategy to diversify beyond traditional crypto trading. If the screenshots reflect the final product, users could soon see prediction markets available directly alongside Coinbase’s existing services.
