The casino operator is the first to bring cryptocurrency to US land-based gambling
Choctaw Casinos & Resorts has taken a significant step in modernizing its payment options by allowing cryptocurrency transactions through a partnership with Bitline. This move makes it possible for patrons to convert digital assets into casino chips and withdraw winnings using crypto, streamlining the process for those who prefer decentralized financial systems.
Bitline, a company specializing in cryptocurrency conversions, announced its collaboration with Choctaw Casinos & Resorts alongside Everi, a gaming technology provider. Through this partnership, casino visitors can now use Bitcoin, Ethereum, Tether, and Circle to fund their gaming sessions.
By leveraging Bitline’s platform, players can transfer digital assets into a secure wallet and complete transactions at the casino cage using a QR code system. The process allows for large transfers, with limits reaching up to $1 million per transaction.
Choctaw Durant was the first property to introduce the service, making it the initial location where patrons could utilize Bitline’s system. The casino, known for its strong presence in the poker community, hosts multiple major tournaments each year, including events on the World Series of Poker Circuit and the World Poker Tour.
While the casino has not yet confirmed whether the new crypto service will be available for poker buy-ins, it is expected that poker players will have the same access as other casino guests.
Cryptocurrency has long been associated with online gambling, but its adoption in land-based casinos has been slower. The partnership between Choctaw and Bitline represents a shift in that trend.
