Cage Live return to Costa Rica was a huge success

After a 3.5-year hiatus that started with the Covid pandemic, our fabulous Cage Live returned to Costa Rica last week and it was a huge hit for all involved.

This cash game in a time-based tournament format had three Day 1’s from Wednesday through Friday. The 50 players who survived with chips during any one of those days tallied them up and used them as their starting stack for the final Day 2 on Saturday.

Some of Saturday’s participants included our CEO Phil Nagy and ACR Pros Ana Marquez, Jose ‘Nacho’ Barbero, Chris Moneymaker, Jeff Boski, and Rob Kuhn. Also battling were ACR Ambassadors Rene and Casey Nezhoda. See some of the pictures below.

At the end of the three levels (three hours each) on Saturday, 30 players survived with chips and all were converted to cold hard cash at a 1:1 ratio. Remember there is no cashing out chips at all until Day 2 is over – that’s why it’s called The Cage!

One of the best parts about this event is we hold it in our home base of San Jose, Costa Rica. It’s a great chance for us to mingle with players and get to know them personally, especially with the wild Player Party that we held Wednesday night at the Sheraton Hotel.

And if you’re suffering from a little envy just reading this article, we certainly don’t blame you. However, you don’t need to fret. We will be running the next Cage Live again in Costa Rica in about 6 months and packages will again be available via satellite. We sent 36 players this time, each with an $8,700 package that included the $5,250 Cage Live buy-in, airfare, hotel, spending money and more.
