Card Player Poker Tour heads to Jacksonville, FL, in August

The poker tournament returns to Jacksonville for its 11th year

The Card Player Poker Tour (CPPT) recently announced its return to Florida’s biggest poker room for a nine-event series. It will be the 11th time bestbet Jacksonville hosted the festival, which runs from August 15 -26.

The highlight of the nine-event series is the $1,700 buy-in $300,000 guaranteed No-Limit Hold’em mystery bounty main event. The tournament is scheduled from August 22-26, with starting flights on the first three days beginning at noon Eastern time. Entrants will start with 30,000 chips, with levels increasing every 40 minutes.

Three CPPT Jacksonville events will be streamed on bestbetLIVE’s YouTube channel, including the mystery bounty main event. Fans can also watch the action from the final table of the $100,00 guaranteed $400 buy-in No-Limit Hold’em kickoff tournament on August 18, and a $300 buy-in ladies’ event will be featured on the live stream beginning on August 21.

Last year’s main event at the CPPT bestbet Jacksonville series in August 2023 was a $1,700 mystery bounty tournament. Heng Zhang navigated through 357 entrants to win the championship, taking home the $74,010 first-place prize and earning nine mystery bounty payouts worth another $51,000 for a total payout of $125,010. Those bounties included the second-biggest of the tournament, which paid $25,000.

Zhang also reached the final table at the CPPT bestbet Jacksonville main event in 2015, ending the tournament in third place for $69,252.

Ben Scrogins holds the record for the largest purse won at the CPPT Jacksonville main event. He secured $158,915 after winning the $2,500 buy-in tournament in 2021.
